Small polyester round slings can easily lift 6000tons of reinforced concrete ‘Big Mac’
The world-famous super-engineering Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is opening to traffic. The construction of the bridge has created the world’s longest:the world’s longest sea-crossing bridge; the world’s largest engineering and most technically challenging artificial island; the world’s longest and deepest sinking pipe tunnel.
The final joint of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Cross-Harbour Tunnel is to lift a 6000tons reinforced concrete “Big Mac” joint, then install to the same leght of space at depth of 28 meters in the sea, stuck in like a wedge, just like ‘thread a needle in the sea’. In this project, the high-strength polyester round slings made a great important role in lifting reinforced concrete.

Under the lifting of the crane, the “Big Mac” connector was smoothly placed in the designated position, that means the main project of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge will soon be completed.

Polyester round sling is made of hihg strength polyester industrial yarn, inner fiber core forms circular shape in endless rounding, and outer covered with sleeve of polyester. Usually round sling choose polyester yarn with 1100dtex-6600dtex. The biggest characteristic of this type of product is high breaking strength and relatively small elongation at break.
